What is it about:The Rum Diary, starring Johnny Depp and Nick Nolte, is an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s bestselling novel. The plot is a bizarre love story about an alcoholic young journalist in politically unstable San Juan, Puerto Rico in the late 1950's. Thompson is also well known for his cult-classic, drug-induced novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which starred Johnny Depp in Terry Gilliam's big screen adaptation. Benicio Del Toro and Josh Hartnett will co-star.
