The
movie "O" is a modernized version of Shakespear's Othello.
When I walked out of the theatres for this movie, all i could say
was "wow". I was in a state of shock that lasted for the
whole 10 minute drive back to my house. God, this movie was one
that made me think. It totally makes me want to be more about what
i say and do. This movie was so powerful and moving. It was kinda
disturbing at some parts but it was awesome. "O" is about
a guy named Odin who's the only black guy in the whole school. His
life is going so good. Everyone loves him, he's doing awesome at
basketball winning the mvp award, he has a serious girlfriend who
he loves and great friends, except for one friend that's decieving
him. Josh Hartnett plays the character, Hugo. Hugo is the son of
the basketball coach, he plays on the team, has great friends and
a girlfriend and all, and he's very talented at basketball, but
he becomes very jealous of Odin. His jealousy gets the best of him
and drives him to try to sabotage everything that Odin has and loves.
"O" deals with many different ssues. It doesn't sugarcoat
anything, it shows exactly how highschool is and how teens are.
I personally think they should show this in all highschools and
make it mandatory for students to watch. It's not a light movie,
so if you can't stand darker more emtional and dramatic movies,
then don't go see this one.
