Summary: During a subway ride home at dawn a 17 year-old girl recalls all that led to a night best forgotten. Gradually, inexplicably, in recalling dispiriting memories of exclusion and betrayal, she imagines a future where she can be "an independent force," strong, confident and free.
Debut Ohioan Mollie Jones, studied Art History and Philosophy at Columbia University. After graduation, she spent a year in Poland during which she studied in Krakow and worked as an assistant costumer on Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List and in the Warsaw division of McCann-Erickson Ad Agency. She returned to the US to study filmmaking at USC (MFA) where she finished Debutante as a "tribute to teenage girls".
