The Black Dahlia is based on a a true story. In the 1940s Elizabeth Short was murdered in Los Angeles. She wanted to become a famous actress, Black Dahlia was her nickname (or became her nickname after her death). Still today no one knows who is her murderer. James Ellroy wrote a book about this murder. The movie Black Dahlia is based on this book. Josh Hartnett and Mark Wahlberg are going to play two cops who investigate the death of the "Black Dahlia".
